Jacquelyn (Jackie) Galvez: Head Teacher
Jackie is a Los Angeles area native who is deeply passionate about STEM curriculum development, education, and hands-on projects. A life-long science lover, Jackie earned her B.S. in Biology from Loyola Marymount University and, more recently, a PhD in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley. She has worked at various science and natural history museums since college, including the Natural History Museum of LA County, California Science Center, Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, and UC Museum of Paleontology. In her free time, Jackie loves long distance running (she’s currently training for her first marathon!), thrifting, crafting, and spending time with loved ones, including her tuxedo cat, Winston. Jackie is excited to bring her unique skill set to the SaFG team and inspire young girls to grow and pursue their interests in STEM!
