Adopt a Lesson
Corporate, team, and group volunteer opportunities
The Need:
SAfG serves nearly 1000 TK-6th grade girls through 2-3 classes at 25 schools and program sites over 27 weeks. That's 1,485 classes to prep for (not to mention summer and spring camps!)
The Benefit:
By sponsoring and preparing class materials, not only do you reduce SAfG’s material costs, but you also help us save hundreds of teacher hours that can be better focused to directly support our girls. In 2025-26, 13 companies donated a value of $33,000 and 650 volunteer hours - or about the cost and hours needed to support an entire school for a full program year!
In turn, your company not only supports our mission to engage elementary school girls in STEM, but turns a team meeting into an engaging, rewarding bonding experience that directly impacts your local community.
Cost: Lesson kits range from $500–$2,000, averaging $800 each. This includes all materials and a small admin/mileage fee.
Location & Timing: A standard event runs 1–2.5 hours and is hosted at a site of the company’s choice (usually their office). Our Berkeley office is also available. We can adapt the format for team meetings, lunch-and-learns, or drop-in events.
Logistics:
Materials:
Preferred: SAFG orders the materials, brings them to the event, and invoices the company. This reduces company staff time and storage needs and allows SAfG to source from our bulk suppliers, often at a discounted rate
Alternative: The company orders and ships the materials to the chosen location (SAFG provides the supply list, estimated costs, and sourcing suggestions).
Day of: 1-2 SAfG staff will attend to introduce our organization, set up the space, and guide the team through the kit assembly process.
At the conclusion of the event:
SAfG can bring the materials back to our office or
If the number of materials exceeds our van capacity, the company can arrange a drop off to our Berkeley office or pay an additional truck rental fee.
