Amy Miller, Executive Director
Amy brings over 25 years of transformative experience in STEM and nature-based education, driven by a lifelong passion for connecting people with science and the natural world. Most recently, she held pivotal leadership roles at the California Academy of Sciences, including serving as interim dean of education, where she developed and led comprehensive educational programs for diverse audiences spanning K-12 students, educators, youth groups, volunteers, and the broader public.
Prior to her tenure at the Academy, Amy spent nearly a decade at the Smithsonian's National Zoo, where she specialized in public education and community engagement. Her educational foundation includes a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Washington and a M.Ed. from Marymount University.
A longtime Alameda resident, Amy has spent over a decade lovingly renovating her family's historic home. When not immersed in educational programming, she can be found cheering from the sidelines at swim meets, water polo games, and track competitions.
