Alex Fakayode, Head Teacher

Alex is an Oakland native, theatrical artist & educator, rooted in uplifting & advancing the East Bay community. She is a graduate of University of California Irvine, where she earned her Bachelor’ s degree in Drama, concentrating in acting & sound design/engineering. Her career as a Theatrical Sound Designer & Audio Engineer blends the worlds of art & science/technology. After an internship at Women’s Audio Mission, teaching young girls about music technology, she became confident that girls can be very interested in STEM, but need an instructor committed to a fun & engaging approach. 

As a STEM Teacher at SAFG, Alex hopes to pass on to her students the importance of critical thinking, problem-solving & creativity! She can’t wait to encourage & provide adequate resources to the next generation of thinkers, especially the creative girls.
