Self-eSTEM Early STEM Immersion Program
Applications are open for Self-eSTEM’s Early STEM Immersion Program, designed to empower our young Innovators through training, mentorship, and network opportunities. Self-eSTEM’s goal is to equip young girls and women with STEM training that strengthens their digital, technical and leadership skills while fostering transferable college and career readiness skills to prepare for the Future of Work.
The program provides multi-year STEM programming to girls ages 7 to 17 in the areas of computer programming, robotics, AI, and digital literacy aligned with future workforce skills, and focuses on sparking their STEM curiosity and reinforcing their STEM identity. The program begins in the summer (July) with an intensive, all-day, week-long camp experience featuring a rotation of STEM subjects.

Self-eSTEM Early STEM Immersion Program
The Stanford Program for Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Physics (SPINWIP) is a summer learning program designed to get high-school girls excited about physics. This 3-week program is completely free to participants and will be held through video chat.
Participants will learn about cutting-edge research in physics in fields such as quantum physics and astrophysics. They will also learn how to code in Python, and then apply their coding skills to physics-based projects. Participants will attend lectures by Stanford professors and researchers and work in small groups led by Stanford students, as well as attend college planning and career development workshops. First-generation students and students from underrepresented backgrounds in physics are particularly encouraged to apply. No prior knowledge of physics or coding is needed.
For: 9th to 11th graders

Black Girls Code Summer Camp
This summer, Black Girls Code is hosting an exciting, hands-on AI and coding camp in the Bay Area! Designed for youth ages 10-18, this immersive, week-long experience will introduce participants to the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through creative, real-world projects. Whether your child is new to coding or already has some experience, this camp will inspire, challenge, and teach them valuable new skills.
For: girls ages 10-18

Brite Virtual STEM Role Model Camp
Applications for Brite’s Summer Role Model Camp are open! This summer the theme is Explore STEAM: Creativity and Curiosity. The camp will meet online for 5 days, 3 hours daily, in July 2025. Organized by NGCP and Smart Girls HQ, Brite will spark curiosity, foster creativity, all while having fun doing STEM projects and meeting STEM professionals.
For: incoming 7th-10th graders

Dr. Maya Angelou Essay Contest 2025
Applications are open for Dr. Maya Angelou’s Essay Contest, created and funded by Mr. Guy Johnson, author, and son of legendary Dr. Maya Angelou, for Oakland public schools. The grand prize each year is $5,000 with additional substantial awards.
