Project Catalyst: Becoming an Environmental Scientist

Cat*a*lyst (n): a substance that increases the rate of a reaction; a person or thing that precipitates an event.

Why does someone pursue a career in environmental science? For many scientists, that journey begins with an experience that turns a simple curiosity into a lifelong passion. Join us as we meet with local environmental scientists to hear their story and recreate their favorite early science “ah-ha!” moments. Develop your scientist skills in explanation and prediction as we think about the world around us and apply our problem solving skills to issues on this  planet we call home. Perhaps this will be the catalyst for YOUR scientist dream!

*Priority is given to new students and then students who did not take the class in the Spring 2019 classes.  Any remaining slots will be chosen by lottery. You will be notified by email if your child is selected to participate in the class.  There is a one-time registration fee of $10 payable on the first day of class.*
