From Curiosity to Creation: Our Summer Science Adventures

This year, the SAFG Summer Camp and Summer Library Program ignited a passion for science among students across the San Francisco East Bay Area. Students explored the engineering design process, uncovered the wonders of simple machines and space, and revealed the magic behind the science of color. They built and tested incredible contraptions, experimented with forces, balancing, and motion, and transformed their creative ideas into reality.

Join Chabot astronomers on the Observatory Deck for free telescope viewing! Weather permitting, this is a chance to explore stars, planets and more through Chabot’s historic telescopes. Chabot’s three large historic telescopes offer a unique way to experience the awe and wonder of the Universe.

This summer, journey through the night sky with the updated seasonal show at The Lawrence Hall of Science! Use a star map to spot dazzling constellations and celestial wonders while discovering Ohlone traditions of the Sun, Moon, and stars. Travel the globe through sky lore—from the “Backbone of Night” in southern Africa to Maui’s fish hook in Hawaii—and see the universe in a whole new way.
