3rd annual Tinkerfest at Chabot Space and Science Center: Tinkerfest is a one-day festival that celebrates the creative, curious, and innovative spirit in all of us. Tinkerfest brings together makers, artists, and tinkerers to showcase their work while inviting attendees of all ages to join in on the DIY fun! During the festival the entire Center (inside and outside) will be activated with activities that spark curiosity and ignite creativity.

A hallmark of Tinkerfest is the “take apart” zones where tinkerers can learn how something works by disassembling it with their own hands. This year we will completely dismantle two cars and plane engine! The take apart zones are all guided by trained mechanics who are happy to help you learn about a new tool or answer your most burning tinkering questions. Also returning to Tinkerfest are “Giant Cardboardia” and a “Learn to Solder Workshop”. Most activities geared towards a family audience but intriguing for everyone! Tinkerfest is a place where all ages can experiment and learn together.
